Before and After
- Before: 2 Kings ends in exile; Chronicles retells from a priestly/Judah perspective.

Place in the Overarching Biblical Story
Identity and hope. For returned exiles, Chronicles says: you are the people of the covenant, the line of David, the worshipers of the one true God. The temple and the king point to the coming Messiah.
